General Information

  • LEGAL STATUS
Westfield Christian Academy is classified under Massachusetts’s law as an independent school society. It is an established body that maintains its own authority for community purposes. The governing body of the District is its elected Board Committee which is authorized to maintain and operate a complete private school system best suited to the needs of the society.

Westfield Christian Academy is a member of the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) which is a national recognized organization.
  • HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Our highest priority is to spread the Gospel of Christ. In early 2003, Westfield Christian Academy was established by Russian Evangelical Baptist Church. WCA is part of the REBC ministry, and functions under the guidance of the church.

Russian Evangelic Baptist Church, a 501©3 non-profit organization, established Westfield Christian Academy as a church sponsored school. At first WCA provided education to grades K- 1 and within a few years our facility expanded to accommodate grades K-8.

It was vital to create a community within itself that would endorse Christianity to the younger generations. “To promote and strengthen Christian love and unity among its members, to help them to understand the Word of God and in their pursuit of holiness” (Constitution, p. 1). Losing faith in Jesus Christ throughout each generation would rob and terminate us as a society.
  • PHILOSOPHICAL SKETCH
Our school’s philosophy is to encourage each student to profess faith in Christ, have a personal relationship with Him, and exemplify Christ-like character. It is our goal that every student excels in academics, developing his/her gifts and talents to be fully prepared for a higher education, and be a lifelong learner.

We know God and Christ only through the Bible. This knowledge forms a foundation for the rest of life, which must be built upon knowing Christ. The Bible enhances and becomes the foundation for the study of all other subjects such as English, History, Reading, Mathematics, and Science. Bible is a required subject at WCA in every grade. From its pages, we can gain a clear direction for everyday living as it reveals to mankind the only way to heaven and the only hope for eternity. The New Testament of our Lord Jesus Christ is the foundation and guide for the spiritual life of the church.

We follow the A Beka Book and BJU Press curriculum. Furthermore, academically, WCA passes standardized testing. The school implements measure to assess its effectiveness in fulfilling its mission and goals by recognizing that its students get baptized in the Russian Evangelical Baptist Church.

All WCA teachers are qualified educators. Every staff member at Westfield Christian Academy has publicly professed his/her faith as trusting in Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior and has publicly declared their faith through baptism. Each staff member views his/her work at WCA as a ministry, not just a job.
  • MISSION
WCA is an extension of the home and church, and is established to instruct each student in the knowledge of God and the Biblical way of life. In providing the highest standards for academic and spiritual learning, our purpose is to equip each student with the necessary tools to effectively pursue the vocation to which the Lord will lead. It is the goal that each student comes to know and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and to use their gifts and abilities to bring glory to Him.
  • NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATORY POLICY AS TO STUDENTS
The WCA admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration or its educational policies, admissions policies, athletic and other schooladministered programs.
  • STATEMENT OF FAITH
    1. We believe that whole Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21is the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God.

    2. We believe that God is triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ was born of Mary, the Virgin, and is the Son of God.

    3. We believe that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. We believe that He arose from the grave on the third day according to the Scriptures.

    4. We believe that He, alone, is the great High Priest and we need not the intercession of any man, but that Christ ever lives to make intercession for us.

    5. We believe that Christ will come again in person, bodily and visibly, to establish His Kingdom on earth. We believe that in order to be saved, the soul must be born again – “You must be born again” (John3:3).

    6. We believe that every truly born again soul should declare his faith by the act of baptism (immersion in water) setting forth the Lord’s death, burial and resurrection.

    7. We believe that Christ keeps those who are truly born again (II Tim. 1:12; John 10:28).

    8. We believe that all Christians are called unto life of separation from worldly and sinful practices and to a life of usefulness for Christ (II Cor. 6:17; II Pet. 1:2-9).

    9. We believe that the Church is a body of baptized believers whose only mission is, not to “reform the world”, but to preach and teach the Gospel of Salvation to the individual soul.

    10. We believe that at Christ’s coming in the air, the bodies of the dead in Christ shall be changed and glorified, and without dying, shall be caught up to be with the Lord (II Cor. 5:10; I Cor. 3:11-15). After these things Christ will return bodily and visibly to the earth with His saints, and shall rule the world in righteousness for a thousand years, at the end of which the unsaved dead will be resurrected, and their judgement and condemnation shall take place (Matt. 24:30-31; Rev. 19:11-16, 20:5-6,15).
